The Rocket League World Championship returns to the United States as Psyonix has announced the Season Six finals will be held at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada November 9th – 11th. The announcement comes fairly early, as season six only began this weekend.

Last season the World Championships were held in London, England which was the first time it was hosted in Europe since season two. Three of the last five have been held in the United States and will now return again in November.

The League of Legends World Championship (commonly abbreviated as Worlds) is the annual professional League of Legends world championship tournament hosted by Riot Games and is the culmination of each season. Teams compete for the champion title, the 70-pound (32-kilogram) Summoner's Cup, and a multi-million-dollar championship prize. Last weekend, we witnessed an exciting conclusion to League Play in the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) as four teams secured their spot in the Season 6 World Championship in Las Vegas.

Rocket League is no stranger to events in the States, with third-party tournaments held from the likes of ELEAGUE and NBC/FACEIT.

Regional championships will be played online prior to the World Championship at the end of the competitive league season with four teams from Europe, four from North American and two from Oceania advancing. Those ten teams will fight for the title of the best Rocket League team in the world and a mighty piece of the largest prize pool in Rocket League history, $1m (£773,839).

The squad of Team Dignitas will look to keep their streak going as the European team hopes to win their third championship in a row.

Orleans Arena in Las Vegas seats around 9,500 spectators which is similar in size compared to that of previous Rocket League events like the Copper Box Arena in London.

Ticket information isn’t available yet, but as the World Championships return to the United States, American fans will certainly be hunting for their opportunity to witness competitive Rocket League again.

Esports Insider says: While last seasons World Championship was a monumental one for fans across this world, it’s nice to see that it will return to the West Coast with the biggest prize pool yet. The dedication from Psyonix continues and with two championships a year the possibility of alternating continents could very well happen in the future.
